#SayYESto Podcasts

How listening to podcasts helps Danielle, an executive at one of our Delivery Partners.

Hey Everyone!

I’m Danielle and I work for The Princes Trust as an Operations Executive. The main part of my job is leading 2 of our programmes that will support young people in gaining work experience and encouraging personal development. We work on a number of skills, from communication to confidence and everything in between! I’m super passionate about what I do and I love getting to work with such a variety of people.

When I’m not at work, I have to take some time to unwind…..

To help me to relax, I love to listen to Podcasts. This is something I only started doing around a year ago but I have found that it is a part of my daily routine now.

In the past I would always listen to music to help me to escape and tune out but last year I went through a bit of a tough time and found that when I would listen to music, my mind would still be racing. It wasn’t giving me the escape and calm that I was looking for. It felt like I needed something to help me to focus my mind.

So I started listening to a Podcast.

I really quickly found that this helped to give me something to get wrapped up in and take my mind off some of the worries that I was facing. Listening to a good Podcast really helps me in many ways and the great thing is that you can do it anywhere and at any time of the day, from sitting on the bus to relaxing in the bath. I have different podcasts that I go to for different moods. I know that some are there simply to make me laugh, some are there purely as a distraction and some help me to unpick the thoughts that I have and will often help me to make sense of the way that I’m feeling!

If you are thinking of listening to a podcast but don’t know where to start, try searching for one that is about something that you enjoy (e.g Movies or sport) and go from there 😊

My ‘Go To’ podcast at the minute is Fearne Cotton – Happy Place. I LOVE IT!

Why not give it a go? #SayYESto Podcasts and enjoy!

Danielle 🙂
